There are lots of crazy stories about rock stars. Led Zeppelin’s John Bonham was kicked out of the Tokyo Hilton for destroying his room with a samurai sword. Everyone knows that Ozzy Osbourne bit the head off of a bat. I’m sure if you look deep enough even The Wiggles have legends of debauchery told of them. But then there’s Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine.<\/p>\n

Dave is a special kind of crazy, and it’s amazing.<\/p>\n

To start this off, you have to understand that Dave is a really good guitarist. No, like… a really<\/em> good guitarist. So good, that when he auditioned to be in Metallica he didn’t even have to audition; They heard him preparing to play (not even actually playing) and decided that he was good enough.<\/p>\n

“I was convinced that I should be in the band and went to rehearsal. I was tuning up when all the other guys in the band went into another room. They weren’t talking to me, so I went in and said, ‘What the fuck? Am I in the band or not?’ and they said, ‘You’ve got the gig.’ I couldn’t believe how easy it had been and suggested that we get some beer to celebrate.”<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

So we’ve clarified that Dave is really good at what he does; but how is he crazy? Well, I’m glad you asked. He’s admitted to some weird stuff in the past… examples including putting a hex on someone<\/a>, getting kicked out of Metallica, and causing a riot in Ireland<\/a>. The guy is doing his best to actually be<\/em> the Symphony of Destruction.<\/p>\n
